Great deal, smart image

I bought this roughly a month ago and that i am terribly proud of it. I got it four-hundredth off retail on a 1 day sale some time past that the worth was undoubtedly right. the image is incredibly smart, virtually nice. it is not LED quality however thats fine for the worth. it's still superb, and that i assume higher than most at this size.
One tiny grievance, is that the TruMotion feature is ridiculous. I even have tried with sports on the low setting (3) and its not as unhealthy however i believe its an entire waste. i do not assume the TV blurs throughout quick action enough to create it helpful. rather than appreciating how nice TruMotion makes things look, it makes me appreciate how smart the image appearance while not it.
Apart from that this TV may be a nice budget purchase if you do not wish to pay $1000+ on a comparable LED.

Nice image and smart service

Very nice picture; friends are impressed. Stand isn't terribly rigid however I actually have a wall mount returning.
The delivery individuals brought it in, set it up and created certain everything worked.
I disconnected cable and use an attic mounted antenna to urge OTA digital channels (which are available terribly well) and Netflix streaming via my blue ray player.
I'm happy.

Great TV for its price

*I can lengthen this review once I've had longer with the TV*

My favorite feature thus far needs to be the "Picture Wizard." This tool solely takes regarding one minute to use and makes noticeable variations in image quality.

The ONLY criticism I even have thus far is that the "TruMotion" feature could be a joke. Turning it on any level (1 to 10) makes the image unbearable. terribly exhausting to explain this however it's sort of a "bad soap opera.
" I keep it turned off all the time. I would like I might have gotten identical TV while not TruMotion.

Everything else works nice as way as I will tell, and it positively features a fashionable look to it.
exhausting to travel wrong with a 1080p image, particularly for the overwhelming majority of customers.

Seems to be a good product

I have had the TV for concerning three weeks currently. the image quality is just wonderful and it's very easy to navigate the menus and started the show specifically how you'd adore it. the sole factor I actually have found to complain concerning concerning thus far is that the speaker system.
I dont specifically have an outsized front room and therefore the TV by itself may be troublesome to listen to now and then.
I actually have recently bought a brand new surround sound system to go with my home theater package and this can be not a problem in any respect. i'd highly suggest going ahead and doing yourself a favor and buy a sound system of some type to travel in conjunction with the tv.
Besides the sound issue, there are not any alternative complaints. i used to be weary of the TruMotion feature once reading another reviews however I actually have found it to be fully gorgeous up to the present purpose. the image quality is nice and appears specialized with my blu ray player. i'd definately think about shopping for another LG product within the future.

47LD520 LG - Great starter TV, nice price

Great starter TV, nice price, nice picture!

Since owning this tv, I've since modified my "perfect settings" regarding twelve times.

What was throwing me off was the distinction LEVEL. I kept desirous to pump it up to a hundred, and thought it had been the suggests that to the higher image.
I used to be manner off.

So attempt these settings out, let me grasp what you think:

Aspect Ratio: For things like pc input, set it to simply Scan. For things like TV, or Blu Ray, you'll choose Set By Program for smoother tru motion. (Basically, simply Scan typically finds lines on the surface edge, and this really causes tru motion to seem to a small degree choppy now and then.)

Picture Mode: professional one
Backlight: a hundred
Contrast: eighty two - this can be necessary.
you need to fight the temptation to push this higher. it'll be worthwhile.
Brightness: forty seven - fifty three (set to preference.) Mine is at fifty.
H & V Sharpness: sixty two (again, set to preference.)
Color: 63
Tint: G6

Dynamic distinction: Low (works fine with Contrast at 82)
Noise Reduction: Low
Digital Noise Reduction: Medium
Black Level: Low
Real Cinema: Who cares?
Color Gamut: BT709
Edge Enhancer High
Color Temperature: Medium
Gamma: 1.9

The rest will be default.

So why would distinction at eighty two matter? Well, if you scan alternative reviews, you will see that folks bitch regarding the blacks.
Specifically, the mid to higher blacks. distinction takes care of this. At 82, with Dynamic distinction at Low, you will get a awfully sleek transition from the darkest darks to the lightest blacks.
These "mid to higher blacks" are controlled against this, and if you set distinction to a hundred, you fade these black levels.

Pretty sensible TV for the price!

Picture quality is sweet, though I had to mess with the colour settings plenty (I'm still undecided I've got it 100 percent correct). there's some slight discoloration round the edges, however this is often solely noticeable when the TV is displaying one solid color.

I can't stand to possess the smoothing possibility (called TruMotion) turned on. It's presupposed to create TV look higher, however i feel it makes everything appear as if a soap opera. Luckily, it is simple to show off (Menu>Picture>TruMotion).
Note: you'll need to show off TruMotion for every individual input. TV can look slightly juddery while not the smoothing, however it is a limitation of all 120Hz TVs, and it is a whole heap higher than having TruMotion turned on (in my opinion).

That said, movies and video games look fantastic with the smoothing turned off. My Xbox 360 and PS3 games look nice, as do Blu-ray movies.

I maxed out the three HDMI ports pretty quickly (Xbox 360, PS3, DVR), however I figure if i want another one, it'd in all probability be time to induce a receiver anyway.
It ought to be noted that there's only 1 set of part inputs.

Speakers are fine, nothing to write down home concerning however they get the duty done.

Remote needs you to purpose at a reasonably specific spot (the lower-right corner of the TV). quite annoying, however I got used to it (I sit concerning ten feet away).

The swiveling stand is sweet (I flip it to face the kitchen when i am creating dinner), however it solely turns concerning twenty degrees.

Overall, i am terribly pleased with what I got for the worth I paid!

47LD520 LG - Excited to Setup

Updated: Excited to Setup...Prior to Use...Great worth - See Review

Updated: TV was terribly straightforward to setup. It looked for digital channels and located them. it's connected to an Xbox 360 to it and also the image is de facto crisp and clear.
Next are to induce a surround sound system because the audio from the TV is obviously. I even have moved from four stars to five as for the cash bought a TV of this size and 120Hz you can't fail getting this.

I have been craving for a TV for a replacement space we tend to setup. Recently purchased a 40" Samsung for bar, however needed one thing larger and was brooding about 42".
Settled in on the 47" LG. currently the trick was to induce the most effective worth and notice the correct store. I do most of my searching at Best purchase or computer Richard as a result of each stores are reputable. then I purchase at sixth Avenue or Electronics Expo.
It feels like the each sixth Avenue and Electronics Expo have the most effective costs ALL THE TIME. It looks with the competition being thus fierce recently stores are worth matching one another and sixth Ave can match something.

So I purchased the LG 47LD520 from Best purchase for $678.35!
They worth matched Electronics Expo! it's sitting within the box. cannot wait to open it and droop it on the wall! i will be able to update once I set it up! ethical of this review - Get your best worth and head to a reputable store.
