What was throwing me off was the distinction LEVEL. I kept desirous to pump it up to a hundred, and thought it had been the suggests that to the higher image.

So why would distinction at eighty two matter? Well, if you scan alternative reviews, you will see that folks bitch regarding the blacks.
Specifically, the mid to higher blacks. distinction takes care of this. At 82, with Dynamic distinction at Low, you will get a awfully sleek transition from the darkest darks to the lightest blacks.
These "mid to higher blacks" are controlled against this, and if you set distinction to a hundred, you fade these black levels.
